I am wishing everyone a Wonderful New Year in 2014. This year I hope to be better about keeping my web sight more up to date. The new Spring Schedule is ready. This winter I am focusing on my classes at Compass Home School. I am teaching a class in Chinese Brush Painting at the Herndon Community Center and plan to paint at home to prepare for a future exhibit. Sorry to be so slow, but I am s l o w i n g down. At the rate I am going in this cold weather I may freeze in place. Look for my exhibit at the Reston Art Gallery at Lake Anne in Reston, beginning in February featuring our National Parks. I will have four new oil paintings, as well as watercolor paintings. My exhibit of thirty paintings of the National Parks, held in December was quite successful, with several sales.
Travel Plans for Fall, 2014
I am planning another trip to Italy with Grand Circle and would like to hear from anyone that enjoys traveling with a group and Sketchbook Journaling. The trip is still in the planning stages and involves Tuscany, the Alps, the Riviera... or maybe the Amalfie Coast. Learn more about the trip...
Classes After Spring
My plans for classes will depend on travel plans, but I am retiring from teaching with the exception of a few workshops, or six week classes, now and then. I would enjoy teaching a workshop in experimental Acrylic, Collage or Watercolor. I am also willing to teach a beginners class in any medium and anywhere in the Vienna, Oakton, or Reston and Herndon areas. Traffic is one of the reasons I hate traveling out of Reston. I am willing to consider any suggestions. Maybe we can have a paint-in/critique group in Reston.
