Fall 2010 Schedule
Please notice that classes are being held at the Herndon Community Center, the Vienna Arts Center, or at The Reston Art Gallery. Each has their own registration procedure. Just click on the location of the class you would like to take and follow the instructions. Please be aware that, I must have at least 6 students registered and paid at least two weeks prior to the beginning date of the class or the class will be cancelled. You must register for the entire class.
Snow Days. Snow days are based on Fairfax County school closings. If the school opening is one or two hours late in opening, we will have classes at the regular time. I Fairfax schools are closed, the studio will be closed. This applies to day and evening classes. Hopefully we will not have to worry about it this Winter semester.
A variety of classes are offered that both teens and adults will enjoy. Click on the class title for a description of what we plan to explore this session.
No Classes Oct 13.

First 2 weeks of January
Cost: Workshop: $500.00 , Room: $360.00 per person dble occupancy
A workshop in Hawaii is in the planning. We will be painting on the island of Hawaii, at Kapoho, a small village on the Hilo side of the island. The workshop will be the first two weeks of January. I am renting a house for a month and anyone is welcome to come early or stay an extra week IF I have at least six people interested in the workshop. We will paint in a number of totally wonderful locations, including nearby Volcanos National Park, Akaka Falls, Laphouhou Beach Park, the Orchid Gardens, Black Sands Beach, Hilo parts and many back road, beautiful locations, off the beaten path.
I plan to teach the workshop as I have in the past. The workshop is 12 full days of painting instruction and sightseeing. Lodging is very nice, with a hot pond the size of an Olympic pool, porches and near the ocean for snorkeling, etc. The rooms are approximately $360.00 per person double occupancy for the length of the workshop. We shop the first day for breakfast and lunch supplies, as we will be out on location all day and need to pack a lunch. We can eat in the delightful small town of Pohoa or near where we are painting, for the evening meal. To save a bit we could plan a few evening meals at the house when we are painting nearby. You are responsible for your own car rental. I will check on prices. Usually several people share a car to keep expenses down. I find most people have air miles now and prefer to make their own travel arrangements. I will check on flights once I know if there are enough people interested. You will want to fly into Hilo and you may want to even spend and extra day or two there.
