Trip to Italy
Cost: Approx $3,095 - $3,295.
Contact: Lassie Corbert
The trip is called: Tuscany, the Alps & the Riviera. Grand Circle does listen to suggestions and now instead of staying in a number of locations we stay in Florence for 4 nights, beautiful Santa Margherita, on the coast for 3 nights, and Bolzano, in the Alps for 4 nights. This relieves us of the constant packing and unpacking. We have and overnight in Rome and in Venice, but there is the option of a pre-trip in Rome and a post trip in Venice. You may choose to travel to see all the beautiful sites in each area, or stay behind and sketch Florence on one or two of the days. We travel as a group, but when there is time, or when some of us want a break from sightseeing we break away and sketch. The trip price is $3,095.00, leaving Oct 6th to Oct 23rd. We could go earlier in September, but it seems this is when those of an undisclosed age, love to travel and the prices are higher!
Another option is to combine this trip with Tuscany and the Amalfi Coast and get the m;ost use for the flight to Italy. This trip is $3,295.00 in the month of September, and even less if we go after the Alps trip. Sorrento is 69 to 62 degrees at this time of year. I did not check the price for transportation, since many like to make their own arrangements. The advantage of this trip is we stay 7 nights in Chianciano, a delightful small city close to all the highlights of Tuscany. I was able to visit there when I taught workshops in nearby Cortona. Our second stay is also 7 nights in Sorrento, which is right on the Amalfi Coast. Another possibility is renting a place in Sorrento for a week before or after the October trip. Anyway, if you are at all interested, let me know ASAP! Suggestions are welcome. I have brochures I can send you or we can plan a gathering and look at all the information together and make a plan. Price wise I do not think we can beat the price offered by Grand Circle, and they are flexible with "time off".
