Would you believe I finished this newsletter and suddenly lost the whole thing and had to start from the beginning? It is hard to believe that it is time to write the winter news, when my fall classes have three more weeks. This has been such a beautiful fall with all the colors in the leaves. Our dog has us well trained for at least a 45 minute walk every day. I have painted more than enough fall scenes and fall leaves and am ready to move on to other subjects
The winter schedule has quite a few changes. For those of you who love collage, I have just the class for you, and it should be fun. If you can't take a class, I am planning a weekend workshop at the Vienna Art Center. Let me know if you are interested so I can contact you when the date is set up. The Oriental Brush Strokes for the Watercolor and Acrylic Painter is a new class using landscape subjects and flowers as a sound basis for a more freestyle painting. I am continuing with Explorations and Drawing and traditional Oriental Brush Painting.
A Story in the Making
After suggestions over the years that "you should write a book" I may actually write at least a story, but not an art book. The Peace Corps 50th Reunion finally has me going and I have actually dug out those moldy old letters my parents faithfully saved and the dog eared musty photos and joined a Memoir class. The class has really inspired and encouraged me to put some of this down on paper and illustrate it. I am off to a good, but slow start so don't hold your breath for a quick finish! If asked, I may share a few pages with you.
